The still unsurpassed survival horror from the world of Alien will finally have a sequel. To mark the 10th anniversary of Alien: Isolation, studio Creative Assembly has confirmed they are working on Alien: Isolation 2! And here’s the best part—original director Al Hope is returning to lead the development team for the second installment.

A Decade of Isolation and Steely Courage

Reflecting on the 10th anniversary of the game, Al Hope expressed heartfelt gratitude to the players. “It’s been nothing short of incredible to witness your passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players worldwide,” Hope wrote. “Your boundless enthusiasm, excitement, screams (!), and steely courage in the face of cinema’s greatest killer have been profoundly rewarding.”

Fans of the franchise have kept the spirit of the game alive. From the iconic terror of the original 1979 film to Isolation’s nail-biting tension, the game remained loved by its strong community, and it’s often rewarded as the best survival horror game ever.

Sequel Confirmed: “We Heard Your Cries”

“On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear,” Hope continued. “Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.”

It’s official—Creative Assembly listens and knows what fans want. Though specific details remain under wraps, the news is enough to ignite excitement. This confirmation is gratifying after the less-than-stellar reception of Creative Assembly’s multiplayer shooter Hyenas, reinforcing the studio’s return to the survival horror roots fans have been craving.

The Legacy of Amanda Ripley

Released on October 6, 2014, Alien: Isolation featured players controlling Amanda Ripley, daughter of the iconic film character Ellen Ripley. Amanda is focused on recovering the black box from the Nostromo, uncovering what happened aboard the ill-fated cargo ship while navigating life-threatening encounters with the universe’s deadliest predator.

Amanda’s struggle for survival resonated with players who had to navigate every harrowing moment, using wit and resources to survive. The game’s faithful recreation of the atmosphere and terror from the original 1979 movie was central to its success, and fans never let it be forgotten.

It’s an open secret that Ubisoft is working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. After all, company boss Yves Guillemot confirmed a few months ago that the company is working on remakes of older games in the famous franchise. Until now, we had no idea about the planned release date of the dusty pirate adventure – that changes with a report from Insider Gaming magazine. Journalist Tom Henderson has documents that reveal that the Black Flag remake was scheduled for November 2025 at least until recently. However, the date may have been pushed back due to the recent postponement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

A multiplayer Assassin’s Creed, codenamed Invictus, and a mobile spin-off called Jade were also originally planned for release next fall. In total, about ten games in the Assassin’s Creed series are in the pipeline over the next five years. Ubisoft is currently going through an unstable period that has resulted in a change in strategy when releasing games. They will now be heading straight to Steam and, at least for now, getting rid of paid pre-access. Investors are pushing the company’s management to more drastic solutions to address their discontent. One of the options under consideration is a buyout of all of Ubisoft by the Guillemot family and China’s Tencent.

Sony continues to roll out a new PlayStation 5 home menu version. After US players and parts of Europe, more console owners are getting access to the so-called Welcome Hub via a new update. The Welcome Hub significantly overhauls the PS5’s main menu with a whole host of widgets. You can customize the main screen to your liking by selecting a widget such as a battery life indicator for your accessories, online friends, trophies, or disk space. You can also choose a custom background and resize all widgets to suit your needs.

The widgets also come with a custom background. There are various designs to choose from, including some with interesting animated effects. If you don’t like one, you can select an image from the custom gallery. Some players are worried about the new home screen becoming a tempting ad target for Sony. Similarly, intrusive ads appeared on the PS5 after a technical glitch, with official messages from developers and publishers in the background.

After a long time, the developers from Quantic Dream Studio made their presence known to the world by announcing that the adventure game Detroit: Become Human from 2018 has crossed the 10 million sales mark. The milestone was announced by one of the two CEOs, Guillaume de Fondaumière, on Twitter, confirming that he was indeed talking about copies sold, not copies given away or otherwise available at events. Of course, this combines PlayStation and PC sales, but the studio CEO is still excited and thanks everyone who has supported the game and Quantic Dream in this way.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has played this game. We could never have reached this milestone without you, it really means a lot to us.” de Fondaumière wrote. To put the number in context, it’s almost unbelievable that the developers announced 9 million copies sold last December, so in less than a year, they’ve managed to sell another million and confirm the biggest sales achievement in Quantic Dream’s history. But the Detroit comment has naturally sparked debate, with gamers asking where the following games are.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any further word from the studio on Star Wars: Eclipse or any other titles for quite some time. No one is responding to the current comments and reactions from gamers either, so we have no choice but to remind you that Star Wars: Eclipse is due to arrive in 2026, but rather a year later, and no other title has been announced by Quantic Dream.

Nearly half a year after launching on the Amazon Prime streaming service, the Fallout series has passed a significant milestone. Since April, over 100 million viewers have watched the TV adaptation of the post-apocalyptic RPG. To put that number into context, the only Amazon series that can boast similarly high numbers is Rings of Power. Over 150 million people watched its first series, but with a rather considerable time lag, as it premiered back in September and October 2022. Moreover, the series set in the world of Lord of the Rings had a much higher budget, and its critical reception was less unequivocally positive than that of Fallout, which became an instant hit. Over 65 million viewers gave it a chance in the first two weeks alone, and the series adaptation also significantly boosted interest in the game. Rumors even suggest that we could see Fallout 5 before The Elder Scrolls VI, thanks to the series’ success.

In any case, the first season of the Fallout series received several Emmy nominations, two of which it eventually managed to win. Amazon jumped into preparations for the second season practically immediately after finishing filming and, according to the showrunners, plans to release it as soon as possible. Although we have yet to set a specific premiere date, according to speculations and reports that the creators are ahead of schedule, we could see it in the second half of next year.
