Two years ago, we learned that EA and Respawn Entertainment were working with Bit Reactor on a new strategy game from the Star Wars universe. In the following years, the project was basically unmentioned, but that should change soon. The information was contributed by user Timur222 in a post on Platform X. According to him, the game will be unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration event, which will take place in Japan between April 18 and 20. He also mentioned the target platforms, with the title reportedly heading to PlayStation and Xbox, as well as Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Insider Gaming has responded to the post, which seems to have enough evidence to consider the information true. We don’t know much about the game itself yet. It should be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and it’s also worth noting that Bit Reactor Studio has developers who worked on XCOM in the past. Last March, the studio assured that it was still working on the project and had not been affected by the changes in Electronic Arts’ staff.

MMO from the Horizon Universe Canceled

More than a year ago, Sony announced a partnership with Korean company NCSOFT that would have resulted in an expansion beyond consoles to reach new audiences on PC and mobile devices. Since the announcement, it has been speculated that NCSOFT was working with PlayStation on a big MMO game in the sci-fi Horizon universe for PC, PlayStation 5 and mobile platforms, as developer profiles have pointed out. However, it seems that nothing will come of the Horizon MMO as NCSOFT is in a difficult period and has had to cancel several of its big games in development.

Back in the fall of last year, the development of the action game Project M and the multiplayer action game BATTLE CRUSH were halted, followed by major layoffs, and late last year, the game with the working title Project H/Project Skyline which was supposed to be the MMO Horizon was cancelled. The information came from Korean magazine MTN. The game was subsequently removed from NCSOFT’s plans, which only confirms the news. It should be mentioned that MMO Horizon has nothing to do with the cooperative action game Horizon, which is being developed by Guerrilla Games studio. The latter is still in development, according to the latest information, and we may see its unveiling soon.

With the cancellation of two more PlayStation live service games comes the question of what Sony will be able to release anytime soon. Only the action-adventure game Ghost of Yōtei, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Marvel’s Wolverine, Marathon, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and Fairgame$ have been officially announced. We may know more in a month. In fact, the Japanese company has a new State of Play planned for February. At least that’s what insider NateTheHate claims.

State of Play was also held earlier last year. First, we had a classic presentation on Jan. 31, followed by a video focusing on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Feb. 6. February was also State of Play a year earlier. The last State of Play was in September last year. At that presentation, Sony announced Ghost of Yōtei, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and showed things like Hell is Us.
