It’s no secret that Guerrilla Games continues to work on the development of the Horizon brand. After the release of Lego Horizon Adventures, which Guerrilla only oversaw, the door is now open for more titles, including a direct sequel and two multiplayer projects. One of them is being speculated about – we’re talking about an MMO game from Tencent, which is expected to be called Land of Salvation. The other, however, was mentioned by the developers themselves a few years ago and is a co-op title being worked on directly by the folks at Guerrilla Games, and the news is that we could potentially see it as early as next year.
The belief that a release is imminent comes from a teaser that fans have managed to discover directly on the Guerrilla website. A Twitter user with the nickname JorRaptor has shared a few screenshots, according to which the Dutch studio is looking for a trainee tester to get involved in checking the nascent title before release. Importantly, the potential candidate should be available from early 2025, and given that the final testing phase can typically take less than a year, the release of Horizon Online – as the developers talked about the collaboration two years ago – could fall in the fourth quarter of 2025.
There is, however, one big BUT that could significantly interfere with these considerations. You’ve probably guessed by now that we’re referring to GTA VI, which is due to arrive just in time for next fall, and Horizon wouldn’t be the first or last game to voluntarily clear that date. It would then presumably be the case that we’d be able to take on robotic animals and human enemies in co-op in early 2026, but we’ll see how brave Sony is.
