Elden Ring brings its massive world together with FromSoftware’s specific take on demanding combat and obtuse storytelling. The enemies and bosses were iconic. No two enemies are the same, from grotesque monsters to grand demigods. But Elden Ring is more than just combat, of course. With villages and mountains set against golden skies, the world is rich with lore for players to uncover through item descriptions, environmental story elements, and dialogue from various NPCs. Its haunting score means exploration is as much of a thrill as the nerve-racking boss fights. As I travel, many things have made me take a screenshot.
