Nearly half a year after launching on the Amazon Prime streaming service, the Fallout series has passed a significant milestone. Since April, over 100 million viewers have watched the TV adaptation of the post-apocalyptic RPG. To put that number into context, the only Amazon series that can boast similarly high numbers is Rings of Power. Over 150 million people watched its first series, but with a rather considerable time lag, as it premiered back in September and October 2022. Moreover, the series set in the world of Lord of the Rings had a much higher budget, and its critical reception was less unequivocally positive than that of Fallout, which became an instant hit. Over 65 million viewers gave it a chance in the first two weeks alone, and the series adaptation also significantly boosted interest in the game. Rumors even suggest that we could see Fallout 5 before The Elder Scrolls VI, thanks to the series’ success.

In any case, the first season of the Fallout series received several Emmy nominations, two of which it eventually managed to win. Amazon jumped into preparations for the second season practically immediately after finishing filming and, according to the showrunners, plans to release it as soon as possible. Although we have yet to set a specific premiere date, according to speculations and reports that the creators are ahead of schedule, we could see it in the second half of next year.
